Holding Him to a promise He made
In his tent at Badr, outnumbered three to one.
اللَّهُمَّ أَنْشُدُكَ عَهْدَكَ وَوَعْدَكَ، اللَّهُمَّ إِنْ شِئْتَ لَمْ تُعْبَدْ
Allāhumma anshuduka ʿahdaka wa waʿdak. Allāhumma in shi'ta lam tuʿbad baʿda-l-yawmi abadā.
“O Allah, I appeal to You by Your covenant and Your promise. O Allah, if You will, You will not be worshipped after today.”
Where this comes from
Abū Bakr took him by the hand and said: enough, you have appealed to your Lord persistently. He came out saying: the multitude will be defeated and they will turn their backs.
The full narration
Narrated Ibn `Abbas:On the day of the battle of Badr, the Prophet (ﷺ) said, "O Allah! I appeal to You (to fulfill) Your Covenant and Promise. O Allah! If Your Will is that none should worship You (then give victory to the pagans)." Then Abu Bakr took hold of him by the hand and said, "This is sufficient for you." The Prophet came out saying, "Their multitude will be put to flight and they will show their backs
