What he said to people who had just married
Three verbs, and the third is the one that lasts.
بَارَكَ اللَّهُ لَكُمْ وَبَارَكَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَجَمَعَ بَيْنَكُمَا فِي خَيْرٍ
Bāraka-Llāhu lakum wa bāraka ʿalaykum wa jamaʿa baynakumā fī khayr
“May Allah bless you, and send blessing down upon you, and join the two of you in good.”
Where this comes from
Abu Hurayrah says this is what he said when congratulating a marriage. Blessing for them, blessing on them, and then the third clause, which is not about the wedding at all. It asks that whatever joins them keeps being good.
The full narration
It was narrated from Abu Hurairah:that the Prophet used to say, when offering congratulations of the occasion of marriage: “Barak Allahu lakum, wa barak 'alaikum, wa jama'a bainakuma fi khair (May Allah bless you and bestow blessings upon you, and bring you together in harmony).”
