People brought to the Garden in chains
One line, and no explanation attached to it.
لَقَدْ عَجِبَ رَبُّنَا عَزَّ وَجَلَّ مِنْ قَوْمٍ يُقَادُونَ إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ فِي السَّلاَسِلِ
Laqad ʿajiba rabbunā min qawmin yuqādūna ilā-l-jannati fi-s-salāsil
“Our Lord marvels at a people led to the Garden in chains.”
Where this comes from
They were captives, taken against their will, and what they found at the end of the road was the thing they would have chosen if they had known. The chains are real. So is where they lead.
The full narration
Abu Hurairah reported the Apostle of Allaah(ﷺ) as saying “Our Lord Most High is charmed with people who will be led to Paradise in chains.”
