What to do carrying something sharp through a crowd
A small rule with the reason attached.
مَنْ مَرَّ فِي شَىْءٍ مِنْ مَسَاجِدِنَا أَوْ أَسْوَاقِنَا بِنَبْلٍ، فَلْيَأْخُذْ عَلَى نِصَالِهَا، لاَ يَعْقِرْ بِكَفِّهِ مُسْلِمًا
Man marra fī shayʾin min masājidinā aw aswāqinā bi-nabl, fa-lyaʾkhudh ʿalā niṣālihā, lā yaʿqir bi-kaffihi musliman
Whoever passes through any of our mosques or markets carrying arrows should hold them by their heads, so that he does not wound a Muslim with his hand.
Where this comes from
It is not about weapons. It is about what your hand is doing in a crowded place, and it puts the burden on the person carrying rather than on everyone else to get out of the way.

Narrated Abu Burda bin `Abdullah:(on the authority of his father) The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Whoever passes through our mosques or markets with arrows should hold them by their heads lest he should injure a Muslim
