إِنَّ الصِّدْقَ بِرٌّ وَإِنَّ الْبِرَّ يَهْدِي إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ وَإِنَّ الْعَبْدَ لَيَتَحَرَّى الصِّدْقَ حَتَّى يُكْتَبَ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ صِدِّيقًا وَإِنَّ الْكَذِبَ فُجُورٌ وَإِنَّ الْفُجُورَ يَهْدِي إِلَى النَّارِ وَإِنَّ الْعَبْدَ لَيَتَحَرَّى الْكَذِبَ حَتَّى يُكْتَبَ كَذَّابًا
inna aṣ-ṣidqa birrun wa-inna al-birra yahdī ilā al-jannah wa-inna al-ʿabda layataḥarrā aṣ-ṣidqa ḥattā yuktaba ʿinda-Llāh ṣiddīqan wa-inna al-kadhiba fujūrun wa-inna al-fujūra yahdī ilā an-nāri wa-inna al-ʿabda layataḥarrā al-kadhiba ḥattā yuktaba kadhāban

Abdullah b. Mas'ud reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:Telling of truth is a virtue and virtue leads to Paradise and the servant who endeavours to tell the truth is recorded as truthful, and lie is obscenity and obscenity leads to Hell-Fire, and the servant who endeavours to tell a lie is recorded as a liar. Ibn Abu Shaiba reported this from Allah's Apostle (ﷺ)
