What to say over something newly yours
It asks about what the thing already is, not what it will do.
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ خَيْرِهَا وَخَيْرِ مَا جُبِلَتْ عَلَيْهِ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّهَا وَشَرِّ مَا جُبِلَتْ عَلَيْهِ
Allāhumma innī asʾaluka min khayrihā wa khayri mā jubilat ʿalayh, wa aʿūdhu bika min sharrihā wa sharri mā jubilat ʿalayh
“O Allah, I ask You for the good in her and the good of what she was made with, and I seek refuge in You from the evil in her and the evil of what she was made with.”
Said over a marriage, and over anything else newly taken on.
Where this comes from
He said: when one of you comes to have a wife, or someone who serves him, or a riding animal, let him take hold of the forelock and say it. Jubila ʿalayh is what a nature was formed on, before anybody chose anything.
The full narration
It was narrated from 'Abdullah bin 'Amr:that the Prophet said: “When anyone of you gets a new wife, a servant, or an animal, let him take hold of the forelock and say: Allahumma inni as`aluka min khayriha wa khayri ma jubilat 'alaihi, wa 'audhu bika min sharriha wa sharri ma jubilat `alaih (O Allah, I ask You for the goodness within her and the goodness that she is inclined towards, and I seek refuge with you from the evil to which she is inclined).' ”
