What the ground will say

A short passage about the day the earth speaks.

إِذَا زُلْزِلَتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ زِلْزَالَهَا وَأَخْرَجَتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ أَثْقَالَهَا وَقَالَ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ مَا لَهَا يَوْمَئِذٍ تُحَدِّثُ أَخْبَارَهَا بِأَنَّ رَبَّكَ أَوْحَىٰ لَهَا

Idhā zulzilati-l-arḍu zilzālahā, wa akhrajati-l-arḍu athqālahā… yawma'idhin tuḥaddithu akhbārahā.

“When the earth is shaken with its [final] earthquake And the earth discharges its burdens1 And man says,1 "What is [wrong] with it?" - That Day, it will report its news Because your Lord has inspired [i.e., commanded] it.”
