حَدَّثَنَا هَنَّادُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ دَلْهَمِ بْنِ صَالِحٍ، عَنْ حُجَيْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّ النَّجَاشِيَّ أَهْدَى لِلنَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم، خُفَّيْنِ، أَسْوَدَيْنِ، سَاذَجَيْنِ، فَلَبِسَهُمَا ثُمَّ تَوَضَّأَ وَمَسَحَ عَلَيْهِمَا.

Ibn Buraida reported that his father said: "The Negus gave the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) a pair of plain black shoes, so he put them on, then performed the minor ritual ablution and wiped over them.”

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا بْنِ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، قَالَ: قَالَ الْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ شُعْبَةَ: أَهْدَى دِحْيَةُ لِلنَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم خُفَّيْنِ، فَلَبِسَهُمَا وَقَالَ إِسْرَائِيلُ: عَنْ جَابِرٍ، عَنْ عَامِرٍ، وَجُبَّةً فَلَبِسَهُمَا حَتَّى تَخَرَّقَا لا يَدْرِي النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم، أَذِكًى هُمَا أَمْ لا. قال أبو عيسى: وأبو إسحاق هذا هو أبو إسحاق الشيباني واسمه سليمان.

Al-Mughira ibn Shu'ba said: "Dihya a gown, so he wore the shoes until they were perforated, without the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) knowing whether or not they were made from the hide of a lawfully slaughtered animal.”
