What actually gets wasted
Three verses. Ash-Shāfiʿī said if people thought only about this sūrah it would be enough for them.
وَٱلْعَصْرِ إِنَّ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ لَفِى خُسْرٍ إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ وَتَوَاصَوْا۟ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَتَوَاصَوْا۟ بِٱلصَّبْرِ
Wa-l-ʿaṣr, inna-l-insāna la-fī khusr, illa-lladhīna āmanū wa ʿamilu-ṣ-ṣāliḥāti wa tawāṣaw bi-l-ḥaqqi wa tawāṣaw bi-ṣ-ṣabr.
“By time,1 Indeed, mankind is in loss, Except for those who have believed and done righteous deeds and advised each other to truth and advised each other to patience.”
