Severe distress

When you have been unwell a long time

Ayyūb ﷺ lost his health, his wealth and his children, and said seven words.

…annī massaniya-ḍ-ḍurru wa anta arḥamu-r-rāḥimīn.

And [mention] Job, when he called to his Lord, "Indeed, adversity has touched me, and You are the most merciful of the merciful."

Where this comes from

He does not ask to be cured. He states his condition, and then states who Allah is, and stops there. So We answered him and removed what afflicted him. (21:84)
