A consequence with a shape to it
What happens to a person who leaves off remembering.
وَلَا تَكُونُوا۟ كَٱلَّذِينَ نَسُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ فَأَنسَىٰهُمْ أَنفُسَهُمْ ۚ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْفَـٰسِقُونَ
Wa lā takūnū ka-lladhīna nasu-llāha fa-ansāhum anfusahum…
“And be not like those who forgot Allāh, so He made them forget themselves. Those are the defiantly disobedient.”
Losing hold of who you are is described as the second thing that happens, not the first.
