When someone has done you a kindness
The Prophet ﷺ said whoever says this has given the fullest praise there is.
مَنْ صُنِعَ إِلَيْهِ مَعْرُوفٌ فَقَالَ لِفَاعِلِهِ جَزَاكَ اللَّهُ خَيْرًا فَقَدْ أَبْلَغَ فِي الثَّنَاءِ
Jazāka-llāhu khayrā.
“May Allah reward you with good.”
You cannot repay the person, so you hand the repaying over to Someone who can.
The full narration
Usamah bin Zaid narrated that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said:"Whoever some good was done to him, and he says: 'May Allah reward you in goodness' then he has done the most that he can of praise
