Anxiety & worry

When standing firm will cost you

Said by men who had been sorcerers that morning and believed by the afternoon, as they were threatened with execution.

…rabbanā afrigh ʿalaynā ṣabran wa tawaffanā muslimīn.

And you do not resent us except because we believed in the signs of our Lord when they came to us. Our Lord, pour upon us patience1 and let us die as Muslims [in submission to You]."

Where this comes from

Pharaoh promised to cut off their hands and feet and crucify them. They had believed only hours before. They did not ask to be spared; they asked for patience, and to die upon it.
