What he said on seeing a new moon
It ends by addressing the moon directly.
اللَّهُمَّ أَهْلِلْهُ عَلَيْنَا بِالْيُمْنِ وَالإِيمَانِ وَالسَّلاَمَةِ وَالإِسْلاَمِ رَبِّي وَرَبُّكَ اللَّهُ
Allāhumma ahlilhu ʿalaynā bi-l-yumni wa-l-īmāni wa-s-salāmati wa-l-islām. Rabbī wa rabbuka-Llāh
“O Allah, bring it over us with blessing and faith, and safety and submission. My Lord and your Lord is Allah.”
Where this comes from
Four things asked for a month that has not started yet. Then the last line turns and speaks to the crescent itself, and puts it in its place.
The full narration
Bilal bin Yahya bin Talhah bin `Ubaidullah narrated :from his father, from his grandfather Talhah bin `Ubaidullah that when the Prophet (ﷺ) would see a crescent moon, he would say: “O Allah, bring it over us with blessing and faith, and security and Islam. My Lord and your Lord is Allah (Allāhumma ahlilhu `alainā bil-yumni wal-Īmān, was-salāmati wal-Islām, rabbī wa rabbuk Allāh).”
