Children

When you are hoping for a child

Zakariyyā ﷺ asked for this in old age, and was given Yaḥyā ﷺ.

Rabbi hab lī min ladunka dhurriyyatan ṭayyibah, innaka samīʿu-d-duʿā'.

At that, Zechariah called upon his Lord, saying, "My Lord, grant me from Yourself a good offspring. Indeed, You are the Hearer of supplication."

Where this comes from

Zakariyyā ﷺ was old and his wife could not bear children. He did not ask quietly out of doubt. He asked because he knew who he was asking. So the angels called to him while he stood praying in the chamber: Allah gives you good tidings of Yaḥyā. (3:39)
