Loneliness

When it has gone quiet and you think you were dropped

Revealed after revelation paused, and people said he had been abandoned.

Wa-ḍ-ḍuḥā, wa-l-layli idhā sajā, mā waddaʿaka rabbuka wa mā qalā…

“By the morning brightness And [by] the night when it covers with darkness,1 Your Lord has not taken leave of you, [O Muḥammad], nor has He detested [you]. And the Hereafter is better for you than the first [life]. And your Lord is going to give you, and you will be satisfied. Did He not find you an orphan and give [you] refuge? And He found you lost and guided [you], And He found you poor and made [you] self-sufficient.”

Where this comes from

The revelation stopped for a period and his enemies said his Lord had left him. The answer opens by swearing an oath by the morning and by the night, and then denies it outright: He has not left you, and He is not displeased with you.
