Four requests said as he lay down
One of them is a word from the language of debt.
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ وَضَعْتُ جَنْبِي اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي ذَنْبِي وَأَخْسِئْ شَيْطَانِي وَفُكَّ رِهَانِي وَاجْعَلْنِي فِي النَّدِيِّ الأَعْلَى
Bismi-Llāhi waḍaʿtu janbī. Allāhumma-ghfir lī dhanbī, wa akhsiʾ shayṭānī, wa fukka rihānī, wa-jʿalnī fi-n-nadiyyi-l-aʿlā
“In the name of Allah I have laid down my side. O Allah, forgive my sin, drive off my devil, release what I have pledged, and place me in the highest company.”
Where this comes from
Rihān is a thing put up as security against a debt. Every soul is described in the Qurʾān as held against what it earned. The request is to have it released, and then to be seated somewhere better.
The full narration
Narrated AbulAzhar al-Anmari: When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) went to his bed at night, he would say: in the name of Allah, I have laid down my side for Allah. O Allah! forgive me my sin, drive away my devil, free me from my responsibility, and place me in the highest assembly. Abu Dawud said: Abu Hammam al-Ahwazi transmitted it from Thawr. He mentioned Abu Zuhair al-Anmari (instead of Abu al-Azhar)
