A promise he had been given, and a moment it seems to fail

Ibrāhīm ﷺ meets his father on the Day and reminds Allah of a promise.

يَلْقَى إِبْرَاهِيمُ أَبَاهُ فَيَقُولُ يَا رَبِّ إِنَّكَ وَعَدْتَنِي أَنْ لاَ تُخْزِنِي يَوْمَ يُبْعَثُونَ فَيَقُولُ اللَّهُ إِنِّي حَرَّمْتُ الْجَنَّةَ عَلَى الْكَافِرِينَ

Ibrāhīm will say: my Lord, You promised me You would not disgrace me on the Day they are raised, and what disgrace is greater than my father being far from mercy?

The full narration

Narrated Abu Huraira:The Prophet (ﷺ) said, Abraham will meet his father (on the Day of Resurrection) and will say, 'O my Lord! You promised me that You would not let me in disgrace on the Day when people will be resurrected.' Allah will say, 'I have forbidden Paradise to the non-believers
