What is said to you afterwards
The greeting given at the gate, and the reason given with it.
سَلَـٰمٌ عَلَيْكُم بِمَا صَبَرْتُمْ ۚ فَنِعْمَ عُقْبَى ٱلدَّارِ
Salāmun ʿalaykum bimā ṣabartum, fa-niʿma ʿuqba-d-dār.
"Peace [i.e., security] be upon you for what you patiently endured. And excellent is the final home."
The reason given for the greeting is not what they achieved. It is what they put up with.
