When you have started but cannot see progress
The condition and the promise, in one verse.
وَٱلَّذِينَ جَـٰهَدُوا۟ فِينَا لَنَهْدِيَنَّهُمْ سُبُلَنَا ۚ وَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَمَعَ ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
Wa-lladhīna jāhadū fīnā la-nahdiyannahum subulanā, wa inna-llāha la-maʿa-l-muḥsinīn.
“And those who strive for Us - We will surely guide them to Our ways.1 And indeed, Allāh is with the doers of good.”
The striving comes before the guidance, not after it. You are not told the road first.
