The limit on not speaking to someone
And who carries the sin once it goes past that.
لاَ يَكُونُ لِمُسْلِمٍ أَنْ يَهْجُرَ مُسْلِمًا فَوْقَ ثَلاَثَةٍ فَإِذَا لَقِيَهُ سَلَّمَ عَلَيْهِ ثَلاَثَ مِرَارٍ كُلُّ ذَلِكَ لاَ يَرُدُّ عَلَيْهِ فَقَدْ بَاءَ بِإِثْمِهِ
Lā yakūnu li-muslimin an yahjura musliman fawqa thalāthah. Fa-idhā laqiyahu sallama ʿalayhi thalātha mirārin kullu dhālika lā yaruddu ʿalayhi faqad bāʾa bi-ithmih
It is not for a Muslim to cut off another Muslim beyond three days. If he meets him and greets him three times and gets no reply each time, the other has taken the sin on himself.
Where this comes from
It gives the person who wants to fix it a way out that does not require an apology or a conversation. Say salām. Three times. After that it is not yours any more.

Narrated Aisha, Ummul Mu'minin: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: It is not right for a Muslim to keep apart from another Muslim for more than three days. Then when he meets him and gives three salutations, receiving during that time no response, the other bears his sin
