Asking for enough, not for more

The Prophet ﷺ asked for his family to be given food that suffices, and no more.

اللَّهُمَّ ارْزُقْ آلَ مُحَمَّدٍ قُوتًا

Allāhumma-rzuq āla Muḥammadin qūtā.

“O Allah, provide the family of Muhammad with just enough to sustain them.”

He could have asked for anything. What he asked for was sufficiency, and he asked for it as a blessing rather than a limitation.
