When you are asked to carry more than you were
Revealed to the Prophet ﷺ in the years when the weight of it was heaviest.
A-lam nashraḥ laka ṣadrak, wa waḍaʿnā ʿanka wizrak, alladhī anqaḍa ẓahrak, wa rafaʿnā laka dhikrak.
“Did We not expand for you, [O Muḥammad], your breast?1 And We removed from you your burden1 Which had weighed upon your back And raised high for you your repute.”
The burden is described as one that had broken his back. The verse does not say it was light. It says it was lifted.
