The prayer over a child who had never done wrong
Saʿid ibn al-Musayyab was standing behind him and heard it.
اللَّهُمَّ أَعِذْهُ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ
Allāhumma aʿidhhu min ʿadhābi-l-qabr
“O Allah, give him refuge from the punishment of the grave.”
Where this comes from
He notes it himself: I prayed behind Abu Hurayrah over a child who had never committed a single wrong action, and I heard him say this. There was nothing to ask forgiveness for, so what was asked for instead was shelter.
The full narration
Yahya related to me from Malik that Yahya ibn Said said that he heard Said ibn al-Musayyab say, "I once prayed behind Abu Hurayra over a child who had never done a wrong action and I heard him say, 'O Allah, give him protection from the torment of the grave
