Wash me with snow, water and hail
Three cold things, none of which anybody washes with.
اللَّهُمَّ اغْسِلْنِي مِنْ خَطَايَاىَ بِالثَّلْجِ وَالْمَاءِ وَالْبَرَدِ
Allāhumma-ghsilnī min khaṭāyāya bi-th-thalji wa-l-māʾi wa-l-barad
“O Allah, wash me of my wrongs with snow, water and hail.”
Said at the opening of the prayer.
Where this comes from
Sin is described in the same hadith as something that burns. So the washing asked for is cold, and it is asked for three times over. Not rinsed. Put out.
The full narration
It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said:"The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) would say: [1] 'Allahummaghsil khatayaya bi-ma'ith-thalj wal-barad (O Allah, wash away my sins with the water of snow and hail).'"
