What is set aside for one specific loss
It names the person taken, not the pain.
Mā li-ʿabdiya-l-muʾmini ʿindī jazāʾun, idhā qabaḍtu ṣafiyyahu min ahli-d-dunyā thumma-ḥtasabahu, illa-l-jannah
“I have no reward with Me for My believing servant, when I take the one dearest to him from the people of this world and he then bears it seeking the reward, except the Garden.”
Where this comes from
Ṣafiyy is not just anyone loved. It is the chosen one, the person selected out of everybody else. And the reward is named as the only thing that could be offered for it.
The full narration
Narrated Abu Huraira:Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "Allah says, 'I have nothing to give but Paradise as a reward to my believer slave, who, if I cause his dear friend (or relative) to die, remains patient (and hopes for Allah's Reward)
