Three things asked for in the morning
Each noun carries an adjective that does the work.
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا، وَرِزْقًا طَيِّبًا، وَعَمَلاً مُتَقَبَّلاً
Allāhumma innī asʾaluka ʿilman nāfiʿan, wa rizqan ṭayyiban, wa ʿamalan mutaqabbalā
“O Allah, I ask You for knowledge that benefits, provision that is wholesome, and work that is accepted.”
Where this comes from
Umm Salamah says he used to say it after the dawn prayer. Not knowledge, provision and deeds. Knowledge that does something, provision that is clean, and work that gets taken.
The full narration
It was narrated from Umm Salamah that when the Prophet (ﷺ) performed the Subh (morning prayer), while he said the Salam, he would say:‘Allahumma inni as’aluka ‘ilman nafi’an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa ‘amalan mutaqabbalan (O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, goodly provision and acceptable deeds).’”
